The Darkest Dark

June 19th, 2017 · No Comments · Uncategorized

This week in Fs2 we are reading the story ‘The Darkest Dark.We have loved reading this story!

This story is all about ChrisChris loves rockets and planets and pretending he’s a brave astronaut, exploring the universe. Only one problem–at night, Chris doesn’t feel so brave. He’s afraid of the dark.
But when he watches the groundbreaking moon landing on TV, he realizes that space is the darkest dark there is–and the dark is beautiful and exciting, especially when you have big dreams to keep you company.

What was your favourite part of the story?

Messy P.E

June 8th, 2017 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

Today we had the messiest P.E lesson ever. It was amazing!!!

There was some shaving foam involved 🙂

We were jumping in the mud and seeing if we could jump back out again.

We have been working hard developing our stamina for running up the hill and then rolling back down.

We gave this lesson a thumbs up!

(Don’t worry we had overalls on)

May 24th, 2017 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

This week in FS2 we have been enjoying the lovely weather. We went on one of our nature walks to see what else has changed.

We have been talking about whether all of this sun will help or hinder the different fruits and vegetables that are growing in out allotment. We discussed this and realised that we need to be watering all of our plants more than ever.

What did you notice on our nature walk?

Granny Visit

May 19th, 2017 · 2 Comments · Uncategorized

Motor Mouth May

As part of St Augustines Motor Mouth May, we had some visitors  to help support is in  our Listening & Attention and also to encourage us to confidently speak in front of our peers and ask some super questions.

Today in FS2 we had some special visitors. Miss Jones and Mrs Forshaw fetched collected their Grannies from the Bus Stop and walked them to school.

We have been excited about their visit all week.

Over the course of the week the children within FS2 have been preparing questions that they would like to ask these lovely ladies.

We asked them about different forms of Transport that they have seen during their lifetime. We heard all about different cars that we don’t get to see nowadays. We were cheeky and asked them if they had been around when horse and cart was the main form of transport.

We learnt a lot about their family and what how holidays have changed over their lifetime.

Thank you for visiting us Cybil and Polly

Car Counting

May 16th, 2017 · No Comments · Uncategorized

This week in FS2 we have been focusing on all things ‘Transport’. We decided that we wanted to see how many cars we could see parked around our school and driving past our gate.

We were surprised by how many we saw.

We had to choose the best way to record this information, we decided that a tally chart with different colours would be the most efficient way.

How many cars did you find?

Friday Fun

May 12th, 2017 · No Comments · Uncategorized

Today we have completed our final ‘Chatterbox Challenge’. During todays activity we were using our super listening ears again.

We began by sitting in a circle and rolling the ball to different people who Miss Jones had selected. We had to listen carefully as the ball was pushed towards us.

We then had to listen to further to the instructions. Miss Jones gave us instructions in order to create a pattern using beads.

We all worked worked as a team, listening hard and figuring out the pattern.

We then decided that Miss Jones needed to listen. We told her which colours came next.

We have loved completing the Chatterbox Challenge.
